Kadeisha Buchanan is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Olympique Lyonnais Féminin in Division 1 Féminine. She is also the vice-captain of the Canadian national team. With Canada, Buchanan was named Best Young Player of the 2015 FIFA World Cup, and most notably earned a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, as well as a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was named Canadian Player of the Year three times (2015, 2017, and 2020). Buchanan is also a pivotal member for her club Olympique Lyonnais, where she has established herself as one of the best defenders in the world, notably winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League 4-times.
